Day 10

WOMAN TODAY

--Media causes each woman to rethink their bodies, always wondering if they could ever look like the “girl next door.” Woman stress them themselves on being beautiful on the outside and piercing their body or dying their hair. Women want to be perfect according to the latest trend. Media such as television and magazines makes women more irresistible to men if the have a small waistline and huge breast. So women now want to make their bodies “perfect” by undergoing surgery. But if women do not feel right in their bodies, doctor pry them to change according to the way they feel. Say a woman want to become a man, a doctor will pressure them until there is no going back. Nowadays, people have their body parts alter to fit the image that people develop. If you do not have a 36”, 24”, 36” shape how can you be attractive. Rappers always say that they like a clean P****, and so woman like to comply with what they think they should look like. I believe that if you go to a Gynecologist and you are healthy and everything works correctly, why must you believe a word from someone who does not know you to a doctor. Whenever a woman gets a pap smear or a sonogram and everything is working correctly I think they should respect their bodies and learn to love the beautiful inside.

  1. I just read/heard this incredible news report on the increase in plastic surgery and the effects of the beauty standard one women, and of course, I listen to too much news to be able to remember where I found it. But basically, the gist was that the media's constant bombardment of women regarding their imperfections has resulted in a rise in plastic surgery, not just doubling year by year but multiplying by thousands year by year. When some still assume models on magazines are airbrushed (as they used to be), now it's more likely that the brush was really a surgical knife taken to the skin. Yikes. I did research and wrote about this show long ago called The Swan, which was basically about pointing out women's (or rather, Ugly Duckling's) flaws and chopping them off. I agree: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Swan_(TV_series). I'm disgusted. And I agree. It's not until women (or anyone for that matter) can get past the beauty paradigm of "perfection" that they will ever be happy with themselves. A wonderful set of thoughts!
